Born: Unknown at this time. He was born in 1960 though. Hmm... a hippy... Think he believes in free love? ;D
Age: 'Bout 35 or 36 mebbe. I don't think the books are ever quite clear on this.
*UPDATE* I have just read an interview between J.K. and some other journalist and she confirms that he is either 35 or 36! ::should have read it earlier but didn't think it was important.::
Height: It is generally accepted that he is tall. Exact height unknown.
Location: Hogwarts. In particular he hangs out in the dungeons as his class and office are in there. Heh. This is one reason the dungeons are so sexy... ::Wink wink nudge nudge say no more::
Job: Potions Master at Hogwarts.
Personality: Nasty, bullyish, cold, secretive, paranoid. (Hey, what's not to love?). He's also brave, loyal, sarcastic, witty, highly intelligent (read: total genius!), talented, and human.
Likes: Draco Malfoy (slashy or not), the Slytherin house and supposedly the Dark Arts job. And, according to a surprising number of fanfic authors: mint.
Dislikes: Just about everything else.
Rumors: He'll fall in luuuuuuuv in Book 7 (hopefully to me... ;) I must make friends with J.K. [or kidnap her and force her..] in order to make me his lover!)
Prefers it: Probably fast 'n' rough ;).
Life
Most people think that Snape's early life was one of angst, abuse, and general unhappiness. He also had a bad time of it in Hogwarts. He came there knowing more curses than most upperclassmen (which I think is quite useful).
In either case he made bitter enemies of the Marauders, especially of Sirius Black. It is unknown whether he had a love life but many think that he had a thing for Lily Evans. She of course got married to James... Anyway, he had a habit of finding ways to try to humiliate them and this got him into trouble. He, on a tip from Sirius Black, followed Remus into the Whomping Willow. He was almost killed... And Sirius got off pretty much scott free. This solidified Snape's hatred of Sirius and later on he tried to turn Sirius over to the Dememtors. He hates Harry Potter with a vengeance (CAUSE HARRY'S AN IDIOT!).
In any case Snape eventually became a Death Eater. But for some reason (yet unknown) he started, and still is, spying for Dumbledore. He is a valuable ally in the fight against evil.
If he's so darn evil, WHY THE HECK DO YOU LIKE HIM?!
Evil? When did i say he was evil? He's not evil. He's brave, loyal, witty, sarcastic, mysterious, secretive, nasty, bullyish, highly intelligent, and HUMAN. NEVER did I say he is evil.
BUT HE'S A DEATH EATER!
Whoop-ti-doo. We all make mistakes in our life. What matters now is that he's fighting against evil. People can change. He really shouldn't be getting all the flak he does.

::skids in looking dishelved:: AAACK! I am so sorry!! Anyway, why do I like Snape? Well, several reasons I think...
One: He's just so darn cute!
Yeah yeah, kinda a lame reason, but he is! Especially when he's angry!
Two: He's someone who needs someone.
This is very hard for me to explain... Its my opinion that he's kinda vulnerable. Strong yet vulnerable. Because I can't deny that he's strong. He's the strongest in the books in my opinion. He has to do so much for the protection of Harry, and Hogwarts, and blah, but he doesn't have anyone to talk to. Well, he might have Dumbledore, but its not the same. I guess this is a sort of comfort thing for me. You know, I want so much to help him. He doesn't really need help though... But still, I want to be there for him. I want to see him succeed.
Three: He is neither good, nor bad.
I will admit, I do like good guys every once in a while. And Severus is good, but he has an aura of darkness about him.
